Comfortable car ferries link Piombino and Elba in about an hour. Services to Portoferraio and Rio Marina are operated by two shipping companies with frequent departures during the summer months. There is also a fast hydrofoil service for foot-passengers only, which takes only 20 minutes to reach Cavo, in Rio Marina district, and continues to Portoferraio, arriving 15 minutes later. From the North: Take the A12 Genova-Livorno motorway and exit at Rosignano. Continue on National Highway 1 (the Aurelia) to the Venturina-Isola d'Elba exit and then follow the signs to Piombino Marittima (harbour). From the North-East: Take the A1 Bologna-Firenze motorway and near Prato take the A11 towards Pisa, then joining the A12 Genova-Livorno motorway. Exit at Rosignano, continuing on National Highway 1 (the Aurelia) to the Venturina-Isola d'Elba exit and then follow the signs to Piombino Marittima (harbour). Alternatively, exit the A1 motorway at Firenze Signa and take the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno super-highway (Strada Grande Comunicazione) to Collesalvetti, rejoining the motorway for Rosignano, then as above. From the South: Take the A12 Roma-Grosseto motorway, then National Highway 1 (the Aurelia) to the Venturina-Isola d'Elba exit and then follow the signs to Piombino Marittima (harbour). To reach the hotel from the ferry at Portoferraio, follow the signs "Tutte le direzioni" and then "Capoliveri". About 5 km after the Acquabona Golf Club there is a turning on the right for Lido di Capoliveri, with a signpost indicating Hotel Antares. Follow the road to the beach and you will see the hotel on the right.
